State Visit to Egypt: Olaf Hoffmann accompanies President Steinmeier

Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, visited the Arab Republic of Egypt from September 10th to 12th. As a member of a selected German business delegation, Olaf Hoffmann, Chairman of Dorsch Global, accompanied the state visit. The Egyptian President al-Sisi encouraged Dorsch Global for further engagement.

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's visit to Egypt focused on the longstanding bilateral relations between Egypt and Germany. As a member of the business delegation, Olaf Hoffmann, Chairman of Dorsch Global, held talks with high-ranking members of the Egyptian government. The involvement of Dorsch and its subsidiary ECG Consultants Group was of great interest to them. With more than 50 years of experience and 3,200 employees, ECG is the market leader in Egypt.

In addition to talks with the Egyptian President HE Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Olaf Hoffmann was able to exchange ideas with other members of the government, including the Prime Minister HE Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Minister of Transport and Industry HE Kamel al-Wazir, the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade HE Hassan El Khatib, the Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation HE Rania al-Maschat and other advisors. "From the Egyptian point of view, our participation in ECG was praised as a prime example of successful Egyptian-German direct investment and the further internationalization of ECG through this Egyptian-German partnership," said Olaf Hoffmann.

In his meetings with the Egyptian government representatives, Olaf Hoffmann reported on the successful integration over the past year, the highly qualified Egyptian engineers and Dorsch's current projects in Egypt and neighboring Arab countries. "All my Egyptian interlocutors assured me of their utmost support. President Al Sisi was personally pleased with the large number of Egyptian jobs and encouraged me, in the presence of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to continue growing as a company in Egypt," said Olaf Hoffmann. "All of the meetings were characterized by an optimistic and positive atmosphere and bore witness to the deep and trusting relationship that has grown over decades."
