Description

The road B12 is part of the main European Road E61 which is the most important east-west link in the Allgäu area. At this time the B12 is running through the city of Isny. This regularly leads to heavy traffic jams within city.

Therefore it is the intention of the Department of Road Construction of Baden-Württemberg to built a new main road bypassing Isny in future. The Federhalde-Tunnel will be an important part of this new main road project.

The tunnel will have a total length of 760 m build in three parts. The middle part will cross a mountain (550 m). Both ends of the tunnel will consist of an open tunnel structure (east side 45 m and west side 165 m).

The joint venture Dorsch Verkehr und Infrastruktur (leading company) and ibb-ingenieurbüro Prof. Burkhardt GmbH & Co. was entrusted by the District President Tübingen with Construction Management and Construction Supervision.
